WorldStrides 55th Anniversary Celebration Submission

WorldStrides is celebrating 55 years of life-changing moments through educational travel, field trips, study abroad, career exploration and experiential learning!

We're collecting interesting stories from individuals who have experienced a life-changing moment on a trip, program or similar experience over the past five decades. Whether you're a past, present, or future WorldStrides program attendee, parent, teacher, employee, tour guide – even travelers not affiliated with WorldStrides – we would love to hear from you!

Please tell us about your Life-Changing Moments experienced through educational travel, field trips, career exploration. If you or one of your family members have an experience like this coming up, what are you most looking forward to?
Here are some examples:

My life-changing moment was right when our flight took off – it was my first time ever on a plane, and it was exhilarating! Seeing the world from 30,000 feet for the first time was indescribable and I was grateful to see the world in new ways.
I met my best friend on my WorldStrides study abroad trip in Rome! We experienced so many incredible experiences together on the trip, like ordering a coffee in Italian and visiting the Colosseum. Thank you WorldStrides for the BFF 🙂
My life-changing moment was when I saw my grandfather's name on the Vietnam War Memorial during our trip to Washington, DC. I was the first person in my family to ever visit the memorial, and it was humbling to see his name etched in the panels.
I’m the first person in my family to ever use a passport or leave the country, and I was so excited to get my first stamp and take photos in Europe to share with my friends and family.
My life-changing moment was during my career immersion program and seeing representation of my ethnic background in the medical field. It was so motivating to see people who looked like me working in the hospital, and let me know there’s a paved path to realizing my dream of becoming a doctor.
